OrBorJor office broken into
PHUKET: The Division of Finance at
the Phuket Provincial Administration Organization
(OrBorJor) building was broken into over the weekend.
Wannee Supradit, Director of the Division of Finance,
told the Gazette that some OrBorJor officers work
during weekends and that, on Sunday, she went to work
earlier than usual because of a heavy workload.
She said she noticed nothing untoward until a fellow
worker arrived and pointed out a smashed light bulb
and an overflowing office wash basin.
“We immediately went to the safe and saw that the
combination lock had been tampered with but there
was no money missing,” she added.
It is not yet known what was stolen, but police suspect
that the burglar or burglars may have been after documents
rather than money, as many desks had been rifled.
“This time the thief didn’t get any money,” K. Wannee
commented. “We’re going to be more careful in the
future and keep any valuables in the safe.”
The OrBorJor has a security guard posted from 6 pm
- 6 am every night but this apparently did not deter
the miscreants.
