Over the years many cases of burglary and theft have been reported so this is not a new thing to Thailand. However with the increase of population, the crime rate is bound to increase.

Many people prefer not to live with high surrounding security fences or walls, instead many opt for a more open plan kind of living, unfortunately this leaves them vulnerable to theft.

Reports in the media have noted that the increase in Property prices could also drive up the crime rate. Some local people may eventually become frustrated at not being able to afford to enter onto the property ladder and then direct there resentment towards the wealthy foreigners that are buying into Thai real estate. This scenario was observed in regions of Spain when home prices began to soar due to the foreign investment there.

Unfortunately unless you live at the North or South poles you will always be at risk from crime. With a few wise decisions and without breaking the bank you can dramatically reduce your chances of being a victim.

Sadly the majority of people do not give any thought to security until the worst happens. They end up kicking themselves after the event and end up feeling stupid. DONT BE A DUMMY!
